Science is for everyone. It is omnipresent and manifests as daily events. It is the cause and the effect. Look at the sky and wonder at the blue colour.
Chennai has govt run schools in almost every locality. Infrastructure in terms of science laboratories, computers etc are limited only to a few schools and to high school level. The govt aided Vigyan Parishad sends mobile vans to all the corporation schools in metros along with demonstrators who show the children 100-150 experiments over a three- day camp. Middle school children do not benefit much from this effort because too much information is given in too little time and the students do not have the luxury of practically trying out the experiments themselves.
Tanushka’s team of coordinators and resource persons as well as advisory board comprise of professionals and academics from premier institutions who are involved in research-based activities. Their strong academic background, industry experience and their understanding of the gaps in school education has helped Tanushka shape its projects for maximum impact. A large number student-volunteers from private schools in Chennai have been sensitised and trained to handle projects at various types of schools catering to a wide cross-section of urban communities.
There is also a research team constantly updating our repository of science experiments that can be carried out at home without lab equipment and for demos at schools.
